Rizo’s Mexican Restaurant: Authentic South-of-the-Border Grub in Alamogordo
November 11, 2015 | western
New Mexico is so closely tied to Mexico (in both proximity and culture) that it actually has Mexico in the name. So it should come as no surprise that New Mexico has its fair share of Mexican eateries, including Rizo's Mexican Restaurant in Alamogordo. The spot on White Sands Boulevard attracts eaters from all over for its fresh, authentic food.
The menu covers all of the bases, starting with tortas and street tacos. Order your tacos filled with adobo pork, grilled steak, chicken, or even pork stomach. You can also opt for a specialty, such as Rizo's tostada. It features ground beef and potatoes. The carne asada fries, on the other hand, are smothered with the meat plus cheese, pico de gallo, and sour cream. If you're extra hungry, opt for one of the larger entrees. They all come with rice and beans, plus your choice of flour or corn tortillas, including the carnitas plate, barbacoa, and chili verde.
